Wyatt looked at the stage where Victor stood, grinning with such happiness it bordered on foolish. For once, he didn’t mock him. He only gave a small nod. “Mm, Candy’s a good girl. She’ll keep him in line.”
After a pause, he leaned toward Yunice, his breath warm against her ear. “But still… not as good
as me.”
Yunice couldn’t help but laugh, the last trace of melancholy in her heart swept away, replaced by overflowing happiness.

When the ceremony ended and the couple exited, the guests moved to the outdoor reception on the lawn. A champagne tower sparkled in the lights, tables overflowed with desserts, and the band played cheerful tunes. The atmosphere was lively and full of joy.
Children chased one another across the grass, none more energetic than Gill’s four–year–old son, Cub, who darted around like a tiny cannonball.
He had taken a keen interest in the flower crown on Mindy’s head, giggling as he ran after her to grab it.
“Cub! Slow down! Don’t bump into anyone!” Gill, dressed in an elegant gown and heels, was forced to hitch up her skirt and chase after him, breathless and flushed. “You little rascal! Get back here!”
Mindy shrieked and laughed, weaving around tables to escape, while Wyatt and Yunice watched in helpless amusement.
Wyatt was just about to rise to his feet to rescue their daughter when Mindy cleverly darted behind Victor, who had just walked past.
Victor laughed and scooped Cub into his arms, lifting him high. “Good lad, already chasing girls at your age? You remind me of myself back then! But you can’t bully her, alright?”
He handed Cub a small sunflower plucked from a nearby arrangement, neatly diverting the boy’s attention.
Gill finally caught her breath, hands on her hips, both annoyed and amused. “Go on, spoil him! You’re going to wear me out!”

The commotion drew warm laughter from the guests, filling the wedding with a lively, homelike atmosphere.

This time, Wyatt didn’t darken but smiled sincerely, raising his glass. “I wish you happiness. Take good care of Candy.”
It was a man’s acknowledgment and blessing.
“Of course!” Victor nodded firmly, sharing a sweet smile with Candy.
The evening reached its peak as the bride prepared to toss her bouquet.
Unmarried women gathered, laughing and jostling.
Yunice stood at the edge, smiling, when the bouquet of lilies arced gracefully through the air- straight toward her.
She caught it instinctively, and cheers and laughter erupted around her.
Holding the fragrant white flowers, Yunice looked at Wyatt, flustered.
Wyatt slipped an arm around her waist, ignoring the whistles and teasing from the crowd. His voice was low and warm in her ear, carrying a smile. “Looks like happiness thinks we don’t need it passed on. All we need is to keep it going.”
Fireworks bloomed across the night sky, as brilliant as the joy on every face.
With one arm Wyatt carried Mindy, who had fallen asleep on his shoulder, and with the other he held tightly to Yunice’s hand. They strolled together along the quiet garden paths beyond the celebration, the air scented with flowers, their breaths the only sound.
