“Take a good look.” Dylan spoke in a low, menacing tone, every word carrying the weight of a silent and deadly threat. “Am I the one you’ve been trying to expose?”
Tightly gripping her phone, Katie’s knuckles turned white. Fear drained the color from her face, while every inhale felt shallow and uneasy. Tears welled up in Katie’s eyes, panic rising. She shook her head and begged, “No, you’ve misunderstood me, Mr. Scott! I never meant it that way. Please believe me.”
Dylan’s voice stayed cold. “Why am I not hearing an apology now?”
