Yolanda’s heart skipped. Her grip on Brendon’s arm tightened as she leaned in closer to him. “Christina… You’re not still hung up on Brendon, are you? You’re not planning to ruin our engagement, right?” she asked, her voice a little uneasy.
“I have better things to do,” Christina replied calmly.
Yolanda blinked in confusion. “So… You’re not going to try and take him from me at the party?”
Christina almost rolled her eyes when she heard that. To take Brendon, that scoundrel, away from Yolanda? As if he was worth the trouble.
“There’s no man in this world worth fighting over,” she said with a serene smile. Her disdainful gaze carried an air of superiority, making it clear she was above all that. If a man needed her to fight for him, then he wasn’t worth having.
“Do you really mean that?” Yolanda asked, still skeptical. After all, Christina had spent three years with the Dawson family, giving everything she had. How could a woman like that just walk away so easily?
