But Robin had always been the defiant type. “I think this spot is just right,” he said with that maddening calm of his, planting himself beside her like a permanent fixture.
“Then I’ll leave this spot to you,” Christina said coolly, lifting her glass and gliding off to another corner of the hall.
But peace, once again, was short-lived. Robin trailed after her like a persistent shadow, wine glass in hand, and took up his place beside her without missing a beat. “I like this spot too,” he said with a sly grin, his voice light but teasing.
