Raising one eyebrow, Christina accepted it. “I take it you’ve confirmed my card isn’t a fake?”
“Y-yes, absolutely! I’m sorry for doubting someone of your standing. Please overlook my ignorance,” Claude stammered, nodding vigorously, the apology spilling out as his whole body trembled.
The senior sales assistant, realizing the blunder, hurried forward with watery eyes. “Miss Jones, I’m so sorry. I completely misjudged you. Please forgive me—I swear it won’t happen again!”
