Halsey blinked in surprise, then opened her mouth and took a bite.

She nodded. “Yeah. It’s a little sour but sweet.”
Shaun peeled another grape.
The rich heirs around them watched and couldn’t help but tease.
“Mr. Lane, we came here to party, but it looks like that’s not gonna happen. You’re just taking care of your pregnant lady.”
“Mr. Lane sure is a good husband and a good dad.”
Warren, Chelsea, and Elise all watched helplessly.
Soon, Elise sneered, “Ms. Mallin, you sure are lucky.”
Halsey looked at her. “I think it takes more than luck to get pregnant. Don’t you think?”
Elise clenched her fists.
Everyone was focused on how carefully Shaun was taking care of Halsey. She didn’t have to say or do anything to be the center of attention tonight.
Elise wasn’t going to sit back and let that happen. She wanted the spotlight-this was her territory after all, since she used to work at this bar.
She was determined to steal the attention back from Halsey and take Shaun away.
And so, Elise spoke up. “We hardly get a chance to hang out like this. How about I get on stage and dance for everyone?”
Elise had been a star dancer before, but after becoming Shaun’s secretary, she stopped. Now that she was starting again, everyone got excited.
The rich heirs cheered.
“Awesome! We get to see you dance again tonight.”
“Yeah, your dance moves are next level.”
Elise stood up happily.
“I’m going on now.” She deliberately glanced at Halsey. “You’re pregnant now, so you can’t dance. Sit tight and watch me perform.”
Elise reminded everyone that Halsey was pregnant and couldn’t do much, implying it was her chance to steal Shaun’s attention.
Halsey understood what Elise was doing, and let out a cold laugh.
Elise went up on stage, and the host announced, “Everyone, our very own Elise is back on stage! Let’s give her a round of applause!”
The crowd erupted in applause. “Welcome back, Elise!”

Elise took off her jacket, revealing a tiny tank top and a short skirt. A large portion of her fair skin was shown, and even her slim waist was just barely covered. Every move showed off her graceful figure.
The music started, and Elise began to dance.
She had trained in dance, and her skills showed why she was so popular. Her limbs were flexible and graceful. She managed to quickly lift the energy in the room with a few spins and a high kick.
The rich kids watched, amazed.
“Wow, she’s still got it!”
“Mr. Lane, you’re lucky to have Elise as your secretary. You can get her to dance for you anytime.”
Chelsea glared at Elise on stage, filled with jealousy.
Of the three women, she had the least advantage-she couldn’t sing or dance, so all she could do was watch Elise use her charms to win over Shaun.
Still, knowing Halsey was sitting right there, being provoked by Elise, made Chelsea pretty happy.
