Without looking back , Wendy turned and walked away .

Stanley threw back the covers and climbed out of bed , wrapping his arms fightly around her from behind
He buried his handsome face in Wendy’s long hair , his voice rough and strained “ Please don’t get Don’t leave me , okay ? ” Wendy felt his pain as clearly as her own . “ You have to let go . If you don’t , your pain will get worse
But Stanley refused to let go . Instead , he held her even tighter . “ I don’t mind the pain . Just don’t leave me

When Stanley woke again , it was night . Horace and Brittany were by his bedside .

Stanley glanced around but didn’t see Wendy . “ Where’s Wendy ? Where did she go ? ”

“ Is she leaving with Bella ? No , I have to find her ! ” Stanley threw back the covers and got out of bed .
Brittany quickly stepped in . “ No , she hasn’t left ! She’s in the room right next door . ”
Stanley’s eyes widened . “ Really ? You’re not lying to me ? ”
“ We’re not lying . She’s very worried about you, but she can’t come near you right now . If she does, your Heartchain Curse will flare up . So she has to stay in the room beside you . ”
Horace and Brittany felt heavy guilt . The Heartchain Curse was a curse cast on Stanley by Ida and Jessica together . They bore an undeniable responsibility for it .
