Since Maggie’s desk was positioned where the camera could capture the entrance, she quickly realized that he had entered and immediately adjusted the camera.
Due to the angle and height of the camera, the other participants could only see a tall, poised man entering the room. His presence alone exuded an air of authority, but they couldn’t see his face.
Initially, some of Maggie’s colleagues had assumed there was some romantic tension between her and Johnny. Later, they
ned that Maggie was already married with a grown–up child.
However, Maggie rarely discussed her personal life, so they had no real knowledge of her husband.
Given how beautiful and capable Maggie was, the colleagues were curious about her husband. After all, what kind of man could marry such a beautiful, talented woman?
Now, Maggie’s husband was finally in the picture, but to everyone’s surprise, Maggie immediately turned the camera away.
As the others were about to tease her, Franklin spoke first: “Still working?”
Maggie turned to look at him and replied calmly, “Mm.”
Franklin nodded and didn’t say anything else. He went to the wardrobe, grabbed some clothes, and went into the bathroom to shower.
Maggie watched him go, then returned her attention to her work.
As the meeting continued, two female colleagues in Maggie’s team couldn’t help but comment, “Your husband’s voice is so nice.”
Franklin not only looked good, but his voice was also incredibly attractive. Maggie felt a bit embarrassed at the compliment and could only answer, “Thank you…”
By now, it was getting quite late. Everyone still seemed keen to continue working, but they all realized it would be bad to overwork.
Johnny decided to wrap up the meeting after dealing with the remaining tasks, leaving the rest for the next day or two.

Just as Maggie was still working, Isabella returned. She ran to the door and called out, “Mommy-”

Isabella stopped herself from saying what she had planned and watched as Maggie walked over to Franklin. She leaned in close to him and whispered, “Daddy, can I sleep with Aunt Julie tonight?”

Isabelly happily hugged his neck, forgetting to lower her voice, “Thank you, Daddy!”
Maggie, seeing that the meeting was now over, closed her laptop and got up to speak with Isabella. But just as she was abdut to say something, she noticed Julia standing at the door.
Maggie paused and pursed her lips.
Both Franklin and Isabella also noticed Julia.
Franklin stood up and walked toward the door. Not long after, the two of them left together.
bella, seeing this, was about to follow but stopped when she noticed Maggie’s expression, which seemed off. She hesitated for a moment and quietly called out, “Mommy…”
Maggie withdrew her gaze, then began tidying up the papers and books on her desk. She asked, “Did you shower?”
“Yeah,” Isabella nodded.
Maggie didn’t ask who had helped her with the bath. Instead, she asked, “Are you tired?”
“A little…” Isabella responded quietly.
“Well, if you’re tired, go to sleep,” Maggie said softly.
“Got it, Mommy. You get some rest too.” Isabella sighed in relief.
“Mm, I will. Good night.” Maggie smiled warmly.
“Good night, Mommy.” Isabella also sweetly replied.
After speaking, Isabella walked over and gave Maggie a hug before happily leaving the room.
Maggie tidied up, grabbed her clothes, and was about to head to the bathroom for a shower.
When Franklin and Isabella left, they didn’t close the door.
Maggie thought that Franklin likely wouldn’t be returning tonight. As she was about to close the door before entering the bathroom, she walked toward it and nearly bumped into him, who had come back unexpectedly.
Maggie paused, stepping aside.
She thought Franklin had returned to grab something. After all, his luggage was still here.

Maggie was a little bothered, but after realizing that the book didn’t contain any sensitive company–related information aside from a few notes she had made when she first read it, she calmed down and replied, “A little.”
Franklin met her gaze and said, “Okay, I’ll ask next time.”
Next time? Maggie thought to herself. She didn’t think there would be another chance where they were forced to share a bed due to being away from home.
