Chapter 302

Old Lady Miller had some friends and family from X City come to the capital to visit her.
In the morning, after Maggie had finished her meeting, the old lady called and asked her to join them for
Standing by the elevator, Maggie was waiting for it to arrive when Charlie Lane, the newly hired general
manager at Cole, along with Franklin, Chad, and the others, walked toward the elevator as well.
Seeing her, Charlie was the first to greet her. “Miss Miller.”
Maggie nodded in acknowledgment. Charlie wasn’t sure whether Maggie knew Franklin.
However, he knew that during the few days Franklin had been at Cole for business talks, it seemed like
Maggie and Franklin had never met.
Seeing that Maggie didn’t greet Franklin when she noticed him, Charlie assumed she didn’t recognize him
and thus introduced him. “Miss Miller, this is Mr. Wilson from Wilson Group.”
Then, he turned to Franklin and said, “This is Miss Miller from Cole’s R&D department.” Maggie didn’t
look at Franklin. She simply said, “I know.”
Franklin, however, glanced at her and said to Charlie, “No need to introduce us. We’re quite familiar.”
Charlie froze for a moment. He looked at both of them, then back to Maggie.
Quite familiar? Sorry, but he really couldn’t tell.
Not voicing his thoughts, he awkwardly chuckled and said, “I see…”
Maggie didn’t say anything. Franklin smiled and didn’t speak further either.
Charlie: “…”
At this point, he finally understood–Maggie clearly didn’t want to interact with Franklin.
This was quite consistent with what he’d seen from Johnny as well. He wasn’t sure what kind of past there might be between Franklin, Maggie, and Johnny.

Franklin wasn’t an ordinary person. The company was about to cooperate with him, yet both Maggie and Johnny had treated him with such indifference.
Despite this, it seemed like Franklin didn’t mind their cold attitudes… Thinking this, Charlie didn’t know whether to feel relieved or troubled.
Just as he was about to break the silence, Franklin’s phone rang. He quickly answered it. “You’ve arrived?
I’ll come down now.”
After Franklin hung up, the elevator arrived at the first floor. Charlie smiled and said, “Miss Brown is here to pick you up for a meal again? You and Miss Brown have such a good relationship.”
Franklin smiled, just as he was about to reply, his phone rang again. Seeing that it was something important, Charlie didn’t press the issue.
When the elevator reached the ground floor, Maggie didn’t look back as she stepped out first.
She walked out the door, heading for the parking lot, and saw Julia waiting by the car.
Their gazes met.
Julia’s eyes were cold and indifferent when she saw her. Maggie was the first to look away and walked
towards her car.
Julia also shifted her gaze, and only when she saw Franklin behind Maggie did her expression soften.
As Maggie got into her car and was about to drive away, she noticed Julia handing her car keys to Chad, then getting into Franklin’s car.
Maggie retracted her gaze and drove off, putting Franklin and Julia’s situation out of her mind.
At the restaurant, after finishing the meal and seeing Old Lady Miller and the others off to their car, Maggie was about to get into her own car and head back to the office when she saw Rex coming out of the
restaurant.
As soon as Rex saw her, his brow instinctively furrowed.
The last time he had met Maggie was when Franklin came to Cole to find her.
In the time since, he wasn’t sure if there had been further developments between Maggie and Franklin, but he had heard that the two companies were working together now.
He wondered if this opportunity would lead to something more between them… Although he didn’t say
anything, the frown that appeared when he saw her told Maggie everything the needed to know about
his thoughts.
Without greeting him, she simply got into her car and drove away. Rex also got into his car and returned
to the office.
His negotiations with the Brown family were already in progress. Around 3 pm, his secretary came over
and said, “Mr. Hardin, Miss Brown has arrived.”
Rex paused. “Miss Brown?”
“Yes,” the secretary confirmed. “Miss Brown said that her father caught a cold, so she’s here in his place to discuss today’s business cooperation.”
At this, Rex’s eyes flickered with a hint of surprise. He immediately stood up and quickly headed toward
the meeting room.
When he entered, Julia immediately apologized. “Sorry, my father is unwell, so I’m here in his place to discuss the cooperation-”
Rex replied, “No problem.”
Julia didn’t miss the trace of happiness in his eyes. She smiled faintly and subtly shifted her gaze ancay
After the cooperation discussion ended, Rex seized the opportunity to ask, “Miss Brown, do you have time later? Would you like to have a meal together?”
Julia shook her head with a smile. “I have a racing competition in the next few days, and I need to train an the track later. Maybe next time.”
Rex knew that Julia was a racer. However, since he had met her, she hadn’t participated in any races.
In fact, he’d even searched for videos of her races online and watched them repeatedly on his phone.
That meant he hadn’t yet seen her race in person. Now, hearing that she would be training today, he really wanted to go and watch her.

Yves sounded interested. “Sure, where are we going?”
“We’re going to watch a race.” “A race?” Yves was intrigued. “Alright!”
After finding out where Julia would be training, Rex had dinner with Yves and Jimmy, then they drove to the training location.
