Maggie lowered her gaze and responded, “Hmm.”
Everyone in the house heard the conversation between Maggie and Isabella. When they realized that Franklin was coming over, they were a bit surprised. However, since Isabella was there, no one asked
why Franklin had come.
A few minutes later, Franklin arrived.
Maggie went out to meet him and asked, “Are you here to take Grandma to the hospital?”
“Yes,” Franklin answered.
Maggie nodded and said, “Wait a moment.”
“Okay,” he replied and stayed by the car, not getting out.
It was more than ten minutes before Old Madam Miller came downstairs.
When Franklin saw her, he got out of the car and opened the door for her.
Isabella was also getting ready to leave for school. She waved to Franklin, “Goodbye, Dad.”
“Goodbye,” he said, and after exchanging pleasantries with Maggie and the rest of the family, he got back into his car and drove off.
Maggie also drove Isabella to school.
Maggie was busy at work when she received a call from Old Madam Miller. “The surgery was very
successful.”
Maggie felt relieved to hear that.
She had just hung up the phone when another call came in–it was from Franklin.
Maggie didn’t answer it.

Maggie didn’t reply.
She knew that if she didn’t respond, Franklin would understand what it meant, even without thinking

But just around noon, another call came in it was from Jessica.
“Mag, I saw your husband–no, your future ex husband–helping your grandmother up the stairs at a
restaurant!”
Before Maggie could speak, Jessica asked, “Wait, did you two get back together without me knowing?”
“No,” Maggie answered, flipping through some papers as she spoke, “Grandma had a fall and was hospitalized. We went to visit her, and he was just thanking us.”
That’s why, this morning, he came over to take her to the hospital.
Jessica sounded disappointed. “Is that all?”
“Yes.”
Maggie thought to herself that the more polite and considerate Franklin was, the more it meant that he didn’t want to feel indebted to her and her grandmother. In the end, everything he did was just his way of drawing a clear line.
Only someone who wasn’t thinking clearly would assume that he wanted to reconcile.
That evening, Maggie got off work a bit later than usual. By the time she reached the hospital, it was already past seven.
As soon as she got out of the car, she saw Julia leaning against the side of her car.
Julia noticed her too. She pursed her lips and stared at Maggie coldly but didn’t say anything.
Maggie shut the car door and didn’t look at her again. Holding a bouquet of flowers, she walked into the hospital.
The VIP floor was very quiet.
As soon as she pushed open the door, she saw Franklin, Harry, and Levi sitting inside.
After recalling the encounter with Julia downstairs, she immediately understood that the four of them must have come together.
As for whether Julia had gone into the ward to visit Old Madam Miller, Maggie had no way of knowing.
Upon seeing her, Levi smirked.
Harry stood up from his chair.
But it was Franklin who walked toward her and said, “You’re here?”
Maggie didn’t respond to him. She simply looked at Old Madam Miller and, after receiving her gaze, gave her a smile and said, “Grandma.”
