Irene looked helpless. “Eric hasn’t even asked yet. What’s the rush?”

She wasn’t in a hurry. But since neither Eric nor Alice seemed interested in asking, she figured she had to do it before they left.
Alice stood there silently, not saying a word.
After everything she’d just seen, she pretty much had the whole picture.
The Martinezes were at the peak of their influence, and the Nolans didn’t want to lose them as business
partners.
Their solution? Marriage.
Today’s visit to the old mansion wasn’t random. They wanted to use Yvette as a warning to Alice.
They showed her that a country bumpkin like her wasn’t good enough to stay by Eric’s side.
If she had any self–awareness, she’d back out before things turned nasty.
Then, she saw the always proud Irene take Yvette’s hand.
“Yvette, why don’t you tell Eric what you brought for him?”
Yvette smiled gently.
“I just got back to Drakoria and heard that the Nolan Group has been struggling because of a celebrity.
“That celebrity, Levi, is my cousin. If I ask him/he won’t keep going after the Nolans.
“And as for that influencer, I’ve got dirt on her. That won’t be a problem”
Irene lit up with joy. “Yvette, if you pull this off, you’ll be doing the family a huge favor.”
“Yeah, we’ve all been stressed about this!” Sandy added excitedly.
Ruby turned to Alice and said, “You should thank Yvette as well.”
Alice smiled meaningfully. “Is the issue solved yet? I’ll thank her once it is. Sounds fair?”
Sandy snorted. “Yvette, call Levi right now and show her what you can do!”
Yvette looked at Eric. “What do you think?”
He seemed impatient and checked his watch.
“If there’s nothing else, we’re leaving.”
He made it obvious he didn’t care at all about her grand offer.

Yvette’s pride took a hit. She couldn’t just let him go.
“Wait, Eric. Stay and see this for yourself.”
She whipped out her phone. “I’ll put it on speaker.”
As soon as she said that, she quickly called Levi.
On the other end, his voice sounded tired. “What do you want, Yvette?”
Yvette’s face turned serious. Her tone was full of blame.

“Levi, why are you going after the Nolans? Come over here and apologize to Mrs. Irene right now ! ”
Irene relaxed when she heard that.
Everyone else in the family also looked relieved, and their mood improved.
Some of them were already scheming ways to put Levi in his place and show him the consequences of messing with the Nolans.
Alice blinked and glanced at Yvette.
This whole stunt felt a bit outdated. Did Yvette seriously think Levi would listen to her ?
If Levi were truly the type to back down that easily, he wouldn’t even be good enough for a backup actor.
To Alice, a solid actor needed guts to match the talent.
The script she and Risa had worked their butts off writing didn’t have room for anyone spineless.
She turned to look at Eric.
He had his usual cold, unreadable face, like he couldn’t care less about any of that.
Everyone else, though, was glued to Yvette’s phone, staring like they could will Levi into submission with just their eyes.
Then, Levi’s tired voice came through the speaker.
“You’ve gotta be kidding me, Yvette.”
The entire scene fell silent.
Levi didn’t admit his mistake or rush over to make peace.
Instead, he sounded like he didn’t even take her seriously.
Yvette’s smile vanished, her face twisting with frustration. Her voice got sharp.
“Can’t you get what I just said? The Nolans are my friends. You’re making things difficult for them!”
Levi’s tone suddenly turned firm.

Yvette’s expression darkened. “I told you not to go into showbiz. If you had stayed with my family, you’d never have had to deal with such trouble.”
But Levi wasn’t backing down.
“I just want them to take some responsibility. Sure, the clothes are trendy–but the quality sucks.
“If they’re willing to guarantee the quality and put it in writing, I’ll let it go.”
With that, he hung up.
